Early Steelhead Report

The Lake Superior tribs opened last Saturday and even though snowshoes were in need there were a few fish to be had.  Most action is taking place on the Brule.  There is still lots of ice on the lower stretches, but more open water is available every day.  Fishing will be good during our pre run off period.  Indicator rigs with a nymph and egg combination is the way to go.  Fresh fish will be making their way into south shore rivers as soon as it starts to warm up a little.  It's going to be a great spring to get out and chase a few chromers in our wild Lake Superior tribs!
