Despite the weather being a bit on the cool side, fishing has been good, with all kinds of things happening out on the big lake.
Trolling for trout and salmon has been good, and there seem to be a bunch of fish around in the shallows right now. Find some clean water, and watch out for that pesky ice pack that seems to be moving around out near the South Channel and in towards the Sioux River. Saw a few real nice fish caught today. Wading off the beaches and river mouths is also an effective way to get after these fish. They're not out there very far.
Smelting action has been real good for us as well. Call the shop for up to date Smelting action details.
Smallmouth fishing will be getting going as the water warms and continues to clear up a bit.
