As I write this, there's snow forecasted this weekend with the coming of a pretty good looking cold front, so that may change fishing up a little, but everything has been fishing really good for the past week or so. Smallmouth are showing up and fishing has been fun for sure, but we'll see what the weather does to those fish this weekend. The nearshore trolling bite has everybody pretty excited right now with a good mix of Cohos, Browns and Steelhead with the occasional Lake Trout. The South Channel has been fishing real well and guys are seeing good numbers of Cohos out there right now. The new Bay Rat lures in the shop have been pretty hot on these fish. Shore fishing has been really good too, and this is a very under utilized resource in our area. It's so easy this time of year to get a great mix of fish right off Ashland's shoreline. Sturgeon, Brown Trout, Northerns and Walleyes can be caught right now, without the use of a boat.
